cool pics. If someone is inspired by these, we can definately
expect some great and warsowy looking maps.

i wonder whether 36's new map and sections of wbomb1 would be convertable into something like this.

No one wants to click through 100 image links.

What about waiting 30s the page load every time you look the thread ?

This is a pictures thread, guys. Live with it.
Well, depends of the forum, i know few where if you exceed some lenght we tell you to link images
that one goochie links is indeed much more churchy, but in the end
all the pics look fantastic.
I only selected the pic i did as it has a semi mediterraean look ( like courtyard), but mixed with a futuristic look.

It's just more of that bland undefined theme of using 2 or 3 colors to make a plain map. It just happens to be a similar color pallete to the ones you linked, but if you try to imagine the style used in an actual map you'd find it's very uninteresting.
TBH, I didn't find this last bunch of shots very inspirational. Only the 2 ones you highlighted and the use of glass at this one are interesting for me:

There are a lot of other nice pics in there, but what makes them nice are the giantic views they show, not the themes themselves, which are pretty archetypical stuff. Try to convert them to a more moderate scale, remove most of the thin detail, so you can use them at a game like wsw without fucking up fps, and they will be nothing.
EDIT: I like this one very much, but there isn't much to extract from it :P
i think what goochie is trying to point out is that he likes the
industrial futuristic style (i like it alot too).
Most of the pics are way too detailed to try and recreate, but i think that in many of them you can glean inspiration on how to add credible looking structures, details and lights.
With respect to that churchy pic, i find that its a pretty looking place. I can already imagine a cool scenario in which to use it. (bomb map, grimy looking outdoor. off starts in dirty inner city style alleyways -> work towards a large open futuristic plaza with the church at the end of it, plant bomb inside church on altar or something like that)
btw, i like this pic too : http://shaxxer.org/~goochie/i/0052.jpg

most of the pics remind me of Battle Angel Alita (which Cameron is making a film
of btw and which i recommend to any fan of dystopian science
fiction with lots of cyborgs and violence)
