WIP screenshots
Tried replacing my orange brick texture with a concrete one, since
I think the bricks didn't really fit the new indoor area.

what i can say about new wbomb4 retexturing, is that it's a bit too
darkish for my taste. But overall it looks pretty good !

Used final bounce 3 for that.
That is some q3map2 bug. I've triggered it a few times when using lightmapped models. I think it has to do with the architecture around creating some conflict (like brushes going into brushes and such). Try moving things around a bit.

Actually i get it most frequently when the light falls on the surface with a too small angle or if the are spotlights (dark dots around). But they were test lights anyway, gonna avoid this, thanks for the heads up.

It does look very much like what I did, but I actually haven't used
any reference pics for my work so far, so I'm kinda offended that
you seem to take that for granted.
The things that your picture and the A spot I made have in common is just pretty basic warehouse stuff.

There aren't many possibilities to make a warehouse look totally
different lol.
Same old metal walls and some lights, brick or cement walls on first level.
PS. i like that warsow is becoming more and more photo realistic every day.

cant really blame clownfart for seeing the similarities.

as I said, if you go with the overused warehouse theme, you gotta show something special to set off the rest
and Warsow should never become photorealistic, nice graphics, yes, but not loosing the cartoon charme pls :D
also maybe someone remembers how much my 21 brush map back there looked like a quite similar quake3 21 brush map ^^
It happens, it is actually a pretty funny psychologic phenomena, it often happens that you recognize and memorize something subconsciously, and later when you try to be creative, you use your subconscious memory and come up with something probably highly inspired by stuff you have once seen, but can't openly remember it.

yeah I agree with solid.
and Emtown etc similar theme that doesnt really represent warsow's theme/style whatever is not something that any warsow mapper should go for.
and Skill part is how you can combine the limits of game art theme/style whatever to your own taste and getting best result that is simultaneously by you and has very strong warsowish theme.Sure you can go and improve some sort of theme (perferct example of this is new wdm1 where rimol made awsome job btw) but imo mappers shouldnt try to change the game in order to it can fit to their preferences.
Its really shame that I see lot of ppl hating stuff that is warsowish and dont fit to their preferences.Altho I think this is partly dev-teams fault since they havent defined warsow theme strictly enough or have given too open hands for mappers.
results from this is that artstyle is not quite strong and lot of wasted resources have been used to fix maps that have had unfitting theme.
but in the end thats just my own opinion which is probably wrong again.

Just did a google pic search "warehouse",
got 20000 results and they all look the same o0.
@kimza, i still like it, but add something interesting to your map that would balance it.
This could be a warehouse for a mining(oops just stole that idea form HL2/ep2)or it could be located by the docks(warsow doesnt have any maps where there is sea)(omg now remember stole that idea from True Combat)

It just reminded me of this area, if you look back in this thread I post a screen shot of cs_italy that looks just like the area someone else posted. I think I played that game too much.

Yeah, I just felt like he tried to imply that I had ripped that
scene straight off, when he just posted the picture without writing
anything.
Anyway, I'm trying to get better at texturing at the moment, and made these simple textures yesterday:

@kimza, looks very good. Wsw space odyssey 2021 :D - u should make
warsow mars base.
....anyway I made a custom fog shader, and used floodlight
The scene is huge.

It looks sooo DIRTY and I like it.

On this pic u should see white walls :D
Now i need to make it a bit darker(fog color darker and weaker floodlight) and add lights myself.
Add steam, texutures, neon billboards and lights. I hope final look will be a cartoonish Bladerunner.
Forgot to mention that on the screens are places where players can't reach.
