Happy days in Warsowland :?
Hello gamers =)
Well, 0.3 is now out since few days, and we can say it was a real blast. No kidding. In few hours, we broke all stats of any kind. 18.880 visits, 84.212 pages, 646.660 hits, all in the first 24 hours, etc. The Warsow hype get higher than ever =)
Here's few other relevant facts.
First GIGA TV, which is nicely and strongly supporting Warsow since mid 2005, quickly made a long and nice review of 0.3, giving many details about last features and changes.
The day after, 2 warsowians (V-deck and NVC) were invited to the Critical Hit show of ITG Radio, and were interviewed about their Warsow experience, and about their opinion about last version.
This week-end, during the Dutch ESWC finals, Qpad.se kindly organized a very nice showcase of Warsow. They set up an heavily tuned high-end computer and used it to run the game, and to let people watch and test it. Few Warsow members were invited (Etr, Marrk, and Hangy), I heard they had great time, and they got very cool feedback all around.
Overall, warsowians, thanks to all for your enthusiastic and nice comments, thanks for your constructive critics too. We are working so hard since years now, and, besides being happy to enjoying our game, your pleasure, your enthusiasm, your fun is our greatest reward. BTW, or dreamteam coders already spotted prior stuff to be fixed, so you can expect to hear more about 0.31 soon =)
I know newcomers can feel a bit lost when browsing our forum, to get technical help and infos about Warsow's gameplay. Don't worry dudes, here's few hints to help you.
First of all, check out our Wiki, where you'll find some good basics.
You can also get help on #warsow@quakenet.org, or on newsow@quakenet.org, or on almost any other Warsow IRC channels already established around the world (Searchirc will help you to find the good place).
Last but not least, newcomers, I'm very proud to announce you two first tutorial movies, made by Mote, of our testers crew, which are introducing in the best way the first basics of Warsow. Mote did an incredible work, be sure it will highly instructive, usefull and entertaining too. Here's the links :
