Okay, this is my first real map. I've tried mapping a couple times, and hated everything I made. Therefore, this map's name is fitting, as it's the first map where I like my own design. Yes, it is basically just a tiny octagon. I was trying for something with really vertical gameplay and lots of ramps, with pretty good cover. I'm really quite satisfied with the result. The texturing needs some work, but overall I'm pleased with it, and want to know what people think.

Looks cool, but isn't it a bit small (maybe not), too many narrow places. Weapons and powerups are too close together.
But I have to say, it looks awesome, very inspiring design (started to get all sort of interesting ideas when I first saw it).

Very very good for a first map!

Yeah, I can see the powerups being too close together. I sort of wanted to fill it... My thought was that it'll feel really good for new players, or in instagib.

This looks like it could be cool for rduel!

Any chance you could throw some control points on it ? 2 in opposing corners (bottom), one in the middle on the bottom, and one more kind of in another corner between the middle red platform and the ramp that goes down into the corner hole?

Or give me the .map file so I can do it? :D

Oh also, I think the ceilings into the pits are too steep, sometimes they stop you. And it would be nice if there was a slanted wall at the bottom corners to wj backwards, unless they aren't that way on purpose.

And this map has a condition I like to call Flat-top. A TON of Mappers get to the top of a map and make the entire top super flat. On yours its really just the style, but even if you throw some random boxes to trick with, or some ramps or pillars or anything, it'd make fights up top MUCH more interesting.

I basically stopped editing it because I don't want to ruin it. The bottom chambers could have higher ceilings for the ramps probably, since you definitely do hit that a lot, though I don't mind having those chambers slow you down too much, since one has the MH and one has the RL.

Okay, review time:
Layout, texturing, scale and lighting are pretty bad and boring, flow nonexistent. You've been here for three years and release this as a duel map? Have you even played the game?

Lol, I know. I think you misunderstand the reasoning behind most of my choices in this map. I certainly wouldn't expect it to be used in competitions or anything; its mostly just something I was playing around with and liked the looks of. I'm fully aware that it needs spawn points, bot nav, and perhaps other things before it can be taken very seriously, and even then it's more of a map for new players to get used to the game mechanics than anything else. I have to say, when I noticed you'd posted, I expected worse.

for a first work, it is definitely decent to impressive

gameplay, competitive-wise it is nothing for sure
