farmer, are you trying to load the game in a strange resolution? if so - edit your cfg and make sure that you have vid_mode -1 (used to be r_mode in .6) and have set the correct vid_customheight/width. that fixed it for me..

Just a note on weak Eb- I know loads of people crying about it.

I've stated already (somewhere) that I like it. and glad it's back. Makes warsow more unique imo

But..

Atm.. weak eb is too slow.. It's practically useless in CA.. which.. I guess you could say is the point.. but then whats the point of having it available at all. Since it's not fast enough (and I dont think it should be much faster, just a bit.. ) it feels like it's been completely nerfed.

I have no idea what the values are on that projectile . but is it the same speed as it was before weak eb was turned into a rail shot?

if yes.. then I guess we just need to get used to it again.

however if the answer is no - With a guestimate I would say it needs a 25-35% speed increase.

I want to see what the client load, like in all other apps games. Its usless but looks nice :D

I experienced an issue (that I haven't been able to reproduce yet) where the sounds for jumping stopped working with openAL. I tried joining different servers, but I had to restart the client for jump sounds to be audible again. Here is the error message on my console:

(running Arch Linux 64)

edit: I've been able to reproduce this a couple times -- it seems to occur in games with a lot of players. i've attached the error messages i've been receiving:

edit2:

it seems to occur in the middle of games as well as while switching servers. i can reproduce it pretty quickly by switching between servers until my client no longer plays the jump sounds

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

also default hud went racesow'ish:



e2: happens only with DEFAULT and GUWASHI huds

e3: i'm missing the menu point for "weapon-handness" (left/mid/right), why did u remove it?

Having libjpeg8 installed (Arch Linux, i386 executable) it whined about libjpeg.so.62 not being found, so I installed version 6 and then half of the textures where gone. Removed it and linked version 8 to that file and it worked fine, but I think something is wrong there.

Also had to downgrade curl because of "./warsow.i386: /usr/lib/libcurl.so.4: version `CURL_OPENSSL_3' not found (required by ./warsow.i386)".

Nice UI and map loading times. :)

e: also missing teamsay- and normal chat bind opportuinity in normal menu, that's important stuff which s gotta be there:X

If you compile the client binary from source you shouldn't run into these issues. You can do this by compiling the warsow.i386 binary from the sdk zip and replacing the one in your warsow installation.

When .7 gets into the arch linux repos this shouldn't be an issue as they compile the client from source and distribute it

I don't get why you brought that toy EB back from 0.42. In fact, I hope that it is only trolling...
Sure, you might say it creates "a difference" between strong and weak, but that's too mild way to say it. It makes EB useful only with strong ammo.

Besides, its very uncontrollable and unpredictable, which makes it more or less luck based weapon. If you wanted to keep it as projectile, making some changes would be quite necessary. After all, EB is one of the primary weapons.

I tested the classic wrace1; it has lots of missing textures, and its unfinishable because the target_give that gives RL doesn't work. (but it most likely works on racesow mod anyway)/
Otherwise the weapon balance, UI and the map changes seem great! Thanks to all the current and past devs for their great work!!! :)

I'm unable to play, default config forces qf as a sound module and ignore all cfgs i've shoved here and there (well, execute them, but makes no change on s_module nor r_mode). It makes my system so slow I am unable to change it from in game.

Do you have OpenAL installation on your system? If not, then the game reverts to QF no matter what.
Also again, its vid_mode, not r_mode.

Server Browser bug:








As you can see here on the first screenshot there is everything ok... but on the second i selected duel 3 and got kandru's shown ... when i connect now or double click i'll connect kandru's too... That may suck ^^'

R u sure it's forced to use qf? We've told about bug with sound driver switcher above. It's only representation bug, actually it works fine.Driver changing if you choose openal/qf and press APPLY.

Thanks a lot for troubleshoting this is definitely going to fix sound issues. I will now use default config with 1 frame per minute and not touch anything - i could break the masterpiece game of yours.

(non-ironic thumbs up to toukkapoukka for actual advice)
(altho i think it's installed on my system, i'm going to check)
