Just wondering, are those files from the original Q3 media? Just you may need to remove them if so for copyright. There was some mention on media from the q3demo being possibly available for free mods (i.e restricted, but they wouldn't chase people, but it wasn't clear if not for a none ID game).

Just thought it worth mentioning, couldn't tell from the files in there.

I don't know but I can make the icons in 2 hours with photoshop without any problems, equal to those of the id software :)

If you do that then definitely no problem afaik. At worst I'd use files from q3demo, but definitely don't use any from Q3 original unless there's authorization from ID. Personally I'd go with the satisfaction of none ID ones, then you know its 100% fine and kudos for doing it (maybe even improve ;)).

I'd take the link down if there are temporarily until you've replaced them with files that are ok, just to save the mods having issues and removing.

Link removed. Redistributing data from Q3 is not allowed, and I'm pretty sure you can't redistribute Q3 demo data either if it's not in the orginal package.

As for remaking them. a) I don't get the point. b) I don't think that removes the problem really. I'm not a lawyer of course :P

Nope. You have to prove that those creations are an original concept in order to make them yours. That's the first principle of Author's Rights :)
