LAN games not appearing
Hey all,
I just got the game and had a couple of my friends download it, and whenever we try to set up a LAN, the server is never found in the browser.
We live on a college campus, in the same doors, just a room apart from each other, so we didn't see why a LAN wouldn't work. Should one of us just make a server public and passworded, but then have them connect to the IP address directly? Or, is there something that we aren't doing right?
We tried the dedicated server app (I saw a thread on here about making it a dedicated LAN, still nothing), and each of us tried hosting the game separately.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Yeah, I'd just try making it public and connect.
I have two computers behind the same router and they are unable to connect to each other - i actually play on a different server when we wish to play together.

Yeah, we've tried it and nothing came up at all.
try connecting directly to the IP address, in console just /connect
IP, yaknow?
could be that the college campus is blocking ports...
try connecting directly to ip:port of the server
try connecting directly to ip:port of the server
We've got it to work where we can directly connect through the
'connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' command, and that works pretty well. It's
just that the game doesn't show up in the LAN server browser.
Thanks for the help everyone, it's probably just a problem with my school.

You just have to make the server public (I had the same issue), and
don't worry, nobody will connect to it except your mates if you
don't have public IP ;)
I have the same trouble on this and tremulous, so I just /connect;
especially since you can +connect a shortcut.
