guys settings are still not certain, we will discuss that all.
i hope i will help warsow with that cup, there will be alot of quake3 clanarena players registered. i Expect 20+ teams !!!

Just a small tip when it comes to arranging a cup or tournament. This is just from my experience when it comes to arranging things. I've arranged dreamhack quake tournaments ~7 times, Cpm nationscup TDM and Cpm Nationscup 2v2. So I dare to say that I'm quite experienced.

Set a date, and stick to it. The players who want to play need to have a date when the tourney starts and when you expect it to end. If you've got a hard time to make the tourney fit into your schedule, then get a few other people to help you. I'm quite sure if you ask around there's some people willing to help!
If you don't set a date players will lose interest in it pretty soon, they need time to prepare and perhaps make room for the tourney in their own schedule. I think that you'll especially lose the casual players who's not really into competing in games, but can do it for fun.

Ask around, test maps, test settings and ask for peoples input on those things. Imo a cup should be on the players conditions, so the more they can be apart of the cup and make decisions like these one just increases their will to play.

Just my two cents that maybe can help you to get a good cup. GL and HF :)

the only reason i dont want to set a date - i still dont know what date will suit better for players. It will be in 1 or 2 weeks definetly. And it will be Sunday ,in about 17-19 o'clock CEST (its just my opinion, that could be changed if many players will suggest something better).
Im open for your ideas about anything from map list to cup date.

I would like to see cwm2 too in the cup.
(It's a shame that all those cm maps even don't have locations :/ )

A fixed date would be pretty appreciated, I can't say anything as long as there isn't any date.

I'm also interested how much lg lame there will be

the date i am thinking about is 27th september.
Ofc it would be good in case of 20, but there is a tdm cup in same date, so i'd better not distract ppl from it.

So i think that will be a date.

cant really say anything about "lg lame" - every single weapon in that game can be countered by use of other one. And what about weapon settings, it will most likely be default, ofc with classes.

Yeah, make it not on the same date as the tdm cup, as I know a lot people who sure want to participate in both

I think that this is the best possible day; Sunday, No other cups etc.

I'm afraid 2v2 ca at wca1 f.x. will be more or less like ica. (Mostly because of the instant eb)
You should pick maps in the size of wdm15 and wdm14. I have not tested the new maps(community etc.), but I believe all maps that suits for 2v2 and 3v3 tdm suits well for 2v2 ca.

EDIT: SolidFake, wca1 doesnt work cause the combination of too open and instant eb screw the gameplay...

Thats true, if u think CA should b only about camping upstairs and using only EB (and LG if some1 manages to get close enuff, ie when u miss too much) and if u think its a good thing that the team who moves first, loses every round. Its prolly also true its better than many other maps, but its NOT better than any of the dm maps, unless u want to play iCA on nw server..

Also using ffmod for specially CA, would make alot of sense to me, cus the weaponset is by far more suitable for too big and open maps, as well as the increased kb makes those by far more interesting and play faster.
