Rocket trail problem
I made some custom smoke .tga's but when I test it out the areas i
want transparent show up either black or white. Ive tried
everything i can think of, anyone know what to do?


afaik black areas are recognised by engine as transprent :) So u
cant make a black poof.
What software are you using to create the images? Photoshop
requires you to add an extra channel, named "alpha" into the image.
This channel then defines the transparency. You must then make sure
you save the image as a 32bit per pixel tga. (8bits for each
channel). afaik, 24bit will exclude the alpha information. You can
also post the images up and I can have a look at them and/or sort
them out for you
I actually quite like this. I usually use the toon effects for
everything, but this one seems good.

Nice work!! :) I much prefer these toon looking puffs to the ones
in base. I also don't use the default gfx for the rox. Trail
opacity is tweaked in game... cg_rockettrailalpha I think
