A call to all bomb mappers
Hi guys,
please ensure you set locations in your maps. It's important to new players for team_info overlay and for all other players to have standard names for choke points and routes.
Thanks!

How do you add it? In the source engine it was done in the .nav
file. :I
Edit: target_location entity :P
Edit: target_location entity :P
All ctf maps need this too (for tactics) + all custom tactics maps
too ofc

actually its only small amount of "pr0" players who needs this.
And would be useless if the game had voip. It doesn't, so probably a good idea to add it in this case.

Having target_location on maps has nothing to do with "pr0" or "n00b" or anything. Giving your map locations names helps all players to communicate efficently, may it be on pickups or clanwars, over team_say or teamspeak/mumble/ventrilo. If we want to achieve higher quality in tactics and teamplay we need better communication.
It's also a matter of producing quality maps and going the long but hard way to an outstanding map. Everyone can copy some Counter-Strike map and tweak it a bit with ramps and another hallway to the spot. But if you want your map to be played and the players to have fun, you should think about the matches that should be played on your map.

wctf6 is the best ctf map, also the most popular one. Please take
that battletwat's version to 0.55, he made clear locations there.
Defaul ctf6 doesn't have any locations :(
People do. People also use binds with %l. It's good for attackers.

People actually use team_info overlay thingies? : O
Please think outside your box, ETR!
As said %l uses team_overlay, too. Plus I use the team_overlay a lot and I guess more people would if mappers used this great feature more often.

yes, it is, it would be much better if you could make locations with trigger brushes instead of messing around with overlapping invisible location distances, maybe as an additional option...
But it is definitely needed and not only for the "pro" players, as soon as the mapper gives a location a specific and logic name, people use that names. I mean, if the wca1 location wouldn't be named platform, then people would probably just say stuff like "you know, that big thing with the curved glass".
