Very very stupid question
I have lot of experience with hammer (hl2/CS:S), but I don't
understand how to select an object in NetRadiant. Is there a select
tool?

I was a hammer mapper too. ( Source engine)
And i all i can say is that mapping on netradiant is more simplified.
It takes a while to understand it, but once you understand it you wont have problems at all.

How do I use:
item_indi_1 ; jump_pad_1 and similar textures because, when I use them as a _decal, it looks like that:

i guess you just place them a few units above the surface problem

It was already above the surface.
EDIT: SOLVED
I made a simple patch mesh and placed it 0.125 units above the surface, LOL .
These textures can't be used as _decals.
