I maked draft
mockup of clean and simple forum. It will be integrated to WP
by editing templates. Maybe.
I know, it missing a lot of important shit, but it's concept only.
What you think about this? Continue work?

It seems to run fast
Is there an example of a fully working forum with subforums, which is based on same/similar code ?

A good start! Obviously missing lotsa stuff though and doesn't look
that great, I'd like it to be more compact.
Post the DB structure for it so we can see how good it'll scale - any forum with 10 posts in total is going to run fast...

Added profile preview on username click!
It will work on current engine. Tree view is hack by filling id of parent comment to comment subject.

What do you mean by the current engine? SimplePress?
UPD: Reply now working and looks amazing!
Yeap. By markup changing and hacks.
I'll not write own forum engine, because hate server-side programming;)

Tbh, it doesn't look like a forum at all, more like a blog comments
section
Yeah, I like a minimal approach, but this is too minimal. I think
some more userinfo is welcome, some dividing between posts (I
actually like the #FFF / #EEE backgrounds used in the current
forum), and I don't like the heavy emphasis of the 1st post. But I
like the conceptual idea of a clean and minimal forum :]
