Hey guys
maybe you allready notice my new public gametype "Slide". Today I want to release the sourcecode of the gameserver, because i finished it so far and there are many things you can add, but i'm working on 3 other gametypes as well (so i do not have enough time ).

Information about the GT:
• Based on CA
• You have only 1 HP (it's a little bit like instagib)
• You can use RL, GL, PG
• The maps are totaly made of ice, so you have to do (ice-) strafing
• You can use some votes like "allow_grenadelauncher 1/0" to en- or disable the weapons
• All you stats (kills for each weapon, air-kills, deaths, rounds) are saved by the gametype (without auth!)
• The scoreboard displays the kill/death – ratio
• You can use the command "statsme" or "statsfor XXXXX" for viewing the stats of a player
• At the moment there are two maps: Slide_Baby & Slide_Arena
–> Slide_Baby is a smaller map where are many objects you can use to do some tricks
–> Slide_Arena is a wide opened map with some specials like a tunnel
• Just try it out on your own

It sounds to me like jumping would be considered broken in this gametype. Not only do you get more control in the air via jumping than you would on ground, but also avoid most of the splash damage from 2/3 of the weapons and can even jump over a lot of the plasma fire to extend your one hitpoint.

Nice work. I always love seeing people working out new gametypes.

I'm curious: What are the other gametypes about?

The first gametype is nearly finished. It's teamsurvival and named "Survival". You spawn as team and at least one of your team have to capture the next checkpoint (marked as a flag). If a checkpoint is captured the whole team will respawn there. If everybody died the whole team will respawn at the last captured checkpoint. You have up to 30 tries per map (the tries are voteable 1-30). There is a "Swap" command, so if only 1 guy is alive and its the last continue and he allready knows he will fail, he can just type "swap " and a player will change with him. The game is finished if a player capture the "final flag" or everybody died. There are two maps at the moment (both created by me) and a friend is working on a 3rd. The gametype leaks at the moment a little bit :S The swap command got some bugs (i think they are easy to fix), but i got 2 other problems: first of all if the map is finished once i want to "reset" the map (triggers and so on)… but i did not figure it out yet (in the testgames i have to change the gametype to ca and back to survival, then the map was resetted)… another problem is that votes like "map", "nextmap", "restart" doesnt work… i really dont know why, maybe its because my code is a little bit messy xD

The Second gametype is "Conquer". Maybe you know the game "Battle Field". In this game every team got a base and on the maps are other neutral bases. The teams have to capture the other bases in order to win. Thats my concept. I will work on it and thing about some extra stuff (because Battle Field is more a "tactical" camper game and i hate that shit in warsow i will think about some fast racing action…)

The last gametype is not a completly new gametype… It's called "Advanced Clan Arena". I work on this because there are some features i really miss… e.g. some OP commands like: put a Player into a team or lock a single team. There are some other features like a country-flag in the playerlist, so you can see who comes from germany, gb, russia …… i also implementated some new "voice says".

Heh, the first gametype concept is exactly like one idea I offered some time ago. ET's gameplay made simple. Should be great if it gets good maps. And I mean really good.

And as I understand Conqueror it is something like Onslought in UT2004

BTW Good Job with your SLide, my son loves that pretty much!!!

For me the colors of the map are too much cyan, I prefer dark maps for better contrast *gfg*

thanks for your feedback and yes you are right^^ the map-colors (in both maps) are bad... but my designer skill is bad...
if there is anybody who would like to redesign the map i will send him the editable maps
