Hey, here I am once again with a new map, some of you already knew I was working on a CTF map. The mid on this map is based on q3ctf2 and the flagroom is based on q3ctf3 but still quite different and more warsow'ish made. It's a very straightforward fast-action map with a big risk for taking the Quad.

- FIXED FPS ISSUE! By replacing the water with a different water-texture that doesn't reflect

- Fixed missing rocketlauncher at Beta's side
- Fixed overlaying textures
- Added some detail to mid

Awesome map, this tv idea is great and don't texture it, who cares?

I like the bases, have some intense fights, what I don't like that much is the mid of the map, it's rather boring (especially the top stage) and pretty eb heavy. The idea with the canal part or whatever that should and the quad over the water is not bad, but you can easily camp players of already before they are out of the tube.
Also there are a lot of things you need to clip, like the wooden plates in the ra room, they bother you quite much when using the little ramp to get up, or the edges in the big tube. Also you can stand in the frame of the flagscreen.
But the map looks promising, looking forward to test in in pickup one day.

well, thats why I added the teleport to EB. In the previous pickup, no one (really no one) used the EB or bothered to get down there. And if they did had the EB, you only had 5 shots. So thats why I wanna see gameplay-wise, what it will give with the teleport to EB. If the EB gets overused, I might remove the ammo in the mid or remove the teleport again.

I have been thinking about the mid, to make it more interesting but I havent come up with any fresh ideas maybe like el moto said on irc, make it a bit smaller...dunno

You are completely right about the clipping, i'll get that fixed as soon as possible About saying "not sure yet if i'm going to texture it" is because I dunno yet if people are going to think to like it and I cba to put all the work of texturing a map that absolutely no one likes :p

i think the fps issues are due to portal texture size in your wsw options. if you turn portals off, the tv doesnt work tho :/
had that same idea about a screen showing flagroom once... needless to say i like it

EB heavy is good !! Why people always hates EB, it's because of you that eb is as efficient as a water gun !

Pretty nice though it needs some fixes. As you said we're all doing it wrong for the lava part but common sense tells us to double jump on the stairs; I see you have those things planned. Maybe some items tweaks too or scale issue, you should down it a little but I guess you can do it just like that :p

I dunno, but el moto said it was the watertexture "calmwater" which I used, so now I took a new water texture (bluewater1, does not reflect the world) and the fps drops were completely gone and steady at 300 here instead 50

I thought I had the double jump fixed now but apparently not really. Only works when you're going slow enough, because at high speed you fly over the stairs and then you need to WJ to get over it.

New version released:

- edit: the flag RETURNS if it falls in the lava! Suddenly it does work, must've been a bug on my server :O
- Made the mid-part a little bit smaller
- Added the MG to the map
- Removed the wooden plates at RA room
- …and some other tweaks that you'll see for yourself :p

I will probably texture it later, but I have exames coming up in 2 weeks so it will have to wait a bit. Map is on warsow esport now. On some servers you need to refresh the maplist by "callvote map blabla" and then "callvote map darkctf1" because otherwise it will load the older version.

and yes, some day it'll get textured. But atm i'm too busy with school to start on that.
