Hey folks!
I talked to some people at #warsor.pickup IRC channel before posting this.
Well, I'm brazilian guy which has a software company and I also have many friends trying to play warsow in Internet.
The main complains are about:
- Find server, friends and join'em to play;
- Fight the fucking cheats! Man, They're really annoying!

Well.
I have a project to develop something like Steam for OpenSource games (Totally for free, of course), and cheat death.
I have some friends already interested in joining the project. I would like to know of you guys. Do you think warsow would join us? Support us? And allow us to use the forum to improve it?

People interested, please reply.
Forum admins, PLEASE don't kill the topic without sending me a note with the reason. I don't wanna create any problem.
Everybody... Well. Since I don't live in US, England, but working with many US people by now, I say: Sorry for my bad English.
Making it easier... I'm from Brazil, DF, 27 years old, programming since I'm 12 really... QBasic stuff. (I loved it at the time...)
I'm available at henriquecoutobsb@gmail.com for anything.

To get people (and I mean people who are actually capable of doing something instead of just talking) interested in projects like this, you really need to have some working code and something to show first.

And just to point out, moddb already has "steam alternative" which hosts free games: http://www.desura.com/mods

I'm a bit skeptical how this project of yours can compete with Desura, assuming you don't even have an actual working version out yet. What you're planning to deliver over Desura, how you're going to handle hosting (counting that even my little Warsow mirrors eat several terabytes bandwidth monthly, prepare for tens to hundreds terabytes of traffic if you're planning to distribute tens of free games), etc?

Where will be the server? A brazilian or american server wouldn't be nice for the european and asian players.
