Hej,

As for many weeks I constantly see many players from another gametypes trying to play or spectate some duel action on public servers, and some of them were not keen for actually playing with all other more experienced duel players, I have decided to host a cup that is directed to duel-newbies and low skilled players.
It's me who will decide and judge the skills of players who want to take a part of this competition.
So if you come from another gametype, if you are newbie or you are still struggling with 1v1 but you want to play a cup, this one is directed to you.

Mode: Duel [PROMOD]
Date: Sunday, January 22nd
Time: check in 15:00 CET, start 16:00 CET
Format: Double Elimination, Bo3 (Grand Final bo5)
Map pool: wdm2, wdm5, wdm6, wdm12, wdm17test
IRC: #rickrollers @ QuakeNet
Report scores to: KeRpaL, ORDER'Falcky
Stream : TBA
Cup site(signups): here

Serverlist

PRIZE MONEY: 100 EURO

1st place: 75 euro
2nd place: 25 euro

The money has been offered by crizis and a secret donator.

Cointoss winner decides whose map is to be played first, and if needed decides who drops the map first when picking 3rd map. - Bo3
Cointoss winner decides whose map is to be played first, then you start picking the maps one-by-one. - Bo5

I'm gonna try to promote this cup on public servers, however as I am the only one who at the moment is resposible for the promotion, I would be really glad if some of you could actually write about it on some national-forums or national-IRC channels.

Daxio you are fucking awesome! Thank you so much for this.

I'm up to helping you in any way I can, will promote the cup on every pub I play. If you need someone to help organizing it I happily will help.

Also, am I too "experienced" for this cup or can I join it myself? :)

Peace

Generally I will start accepting players when I will get the idea of the average skill of signed up players, so I actually know better who to accept and who to not accept, because there could be even some total newbs etc so please be patient if you are not accepted yet. However I think you could join. Also if any of you has op on any national-irc-channel would be great if you write about it in topic.

Added more info to the german-thread (if this is not good just delete it Drath ;)).

And daxio, you should add a download link of wdm17test to your tournament description.

Also added a news to derquaker.com a German news-site about Quake and similar games, now it only has to be approven by an admin.

Hello...
Im really new to this game. New as in only played 3 public games total, one of them being vs bots and one real human. But this sounds interesting and I might want to try it out if I have the time. I live in Canada and my timezone is EST, I used a converter and if I did it right the tourney starts at 10 pm so I should be able to make it. I do think that exams start that week though :S
I do sorta want to try my hand at this, sounds really fun and like a learning experience. Hope to be there, if not then perhaps another time.
Thanks

sounds good but I am afraid you will be forced to play on an european server with higher ping if that's not a problem for you, anyways, i wish you goodluck :]

Trust me I am not at a level where it will bother me too much, I just hope its not unfair to other people. Just out of curiosity are most of the players European?

@VanwaRaumo

yes, however players from another continents are welcomed aswell

@homart

so far the people I have accepted have way less experience in warsow overall so you could easily win with high-score difference against them, so at the beggining I am trying to accept the lowest skilled players :P

afaik
EST = UTC - 5 = (CET - 1) - 5 = CET - 6

So check-in is gonna start at 9-30am and tourney - at 10-00am!
