Ok, I tried around a bit, I can compile Warsow for MacOSX 10.6 or 10.7 on 32 bit
Weirdly enough 64 bit or that funky 32/64bit architecture causes some errors on my Mac. I needed to make some minor bug fixes in anglewrap_mac, but nothing big at all.
So I could compile Warsow, but I have to say that I usually never code anything on Mac, so I wouldn't be able to make any fixes in those mac-specific files like SDLMain.m

0.62 compiles on mac just fine and without any errors, that's not a problem here.

The problem is 0.7 actually needs some knowledgeable Mac coder to:

1) Update XCode project for all new 0.7 files, most importantly new UI project.
2) Port our new ui to 0.7. Basically, good knowledge of building XCode projects and makefiles, and also knowledge of building the 3rd party library we used for the ui on OS X. This wasn't exactly a joyride even for windows and linux, so this will be the hardest part.
3) Update angelscript .framework package. This might need little bit of actual coding (a bit at least) for some Warsow specifics stuffs we have.
4) Update all of .framework packages to new versions. Build some new .frameworks like theora.

Engine/game itself should still compile just fine, so all the work involved is pretty mac-specific.

To add, it's not, in the end, THAT big task if you know what you're doing, couple to few nights hacking at most.

We just need someone to do it.

Will try to do that when 0.7 is out, like half of the things to do are quite easy (for me), but especially 2 will be hard...

It may not necessarily be hard, I'm just half-guessing here as the lib we use _does_ work on OS X. So at best-case scenario it's also just setting up the project files-type work.

Hey guys,
following the suggestion of some people I would like to join the warsow dev-team.
I'm decent in writing C and I think my knowledge of game, cgame and so on is pretty good as well. I started developing for warsow like two and a half years ago, trying to get into mapping. My tries were horrible, but like 2 years ago, I started to learn anglescript and C simply by studying the sourcecode. Until that point the only thing I developed were some decent applications using VB.NET.
Right now I'm pretty good at creating simple and complex gametypes using Anglescript. Best examples are probably some of my theme-gametypes I host during xmas or Easter. Beside of that I already submitted several small features/patchs during the last months.
Unfortuanately my C++-skillz are still in their infancy, but I'm going to work on that as well.
I have also near to no expirience in optimizing the engine.
In case you decide to give me a try, I would like to create some additional features using the new UI as well as I would like to try to help you working on the new UI. Beside of that I'd like to try to keep up the mac-support. Like I already said several times before I've never developed anything on a mac (beside of some simple Iphone-Apps), but in my opinion it's atleast worth a try. In general I'd probably try to have a closer look at all those things suggested by the community, and realizing some of those, so you don't have to say "no ideas, implementations!" all the time :)
That's it, I don't really know what I should add...
You can contact me using irc #warsow @ Quakenet, or mail me using drahtmaul{a-t}kandru.de
I would like to contribute my part to Warsow.

I'm studing the high of developing web (html, xhtml, xml, java, and in the future mysql, javascript, php, etc)

For the moment i can't help with the developing of the game, but i give a small ideas about expansion of warsow, how to make a web in diferent languages and support in its (i can help with spanish section), a sync of web counts and the game, a warsow in diferent lenguages, a possibility of make warsow a hybrid between fast and tactical games, ...

I think warsow is a much potential fps, but need standardize and publicity

i will like help the team in all, and, with more formation, form parth of this project

Hi, do you guys still need a programmer? I don't know how helpful I can be but I'd like to at least learn something. As my C++ experience stands, I'm currently a programmer for my school's FIRST Robotics team. I collaborate with others on the source but I tend to specialize in text file operations and logic optimization. You can see some of our work here:

http://code.google.com/p/team-paradox-code/

If this opportunity is at all available, I run Linux anyway so I can pick up the source code and start poking around. Otherwise, I'm learning to play the game (slowly) and really enjoying how unique it is, so I guess I'm also introducing myself to the forums!

Hi Anjunatux,
thank you for your kind offer! My suggestion would be to initially get yourself familiar with the source code by downloading the SDK, picking the area of interest for you (game, Angelscript, UI, wswtv, ec) and start poking at it. Don't hesitate to post arising questions in the modding forum, we'll try to help you out.
It's just that very few ppl actually NOT lose interest in the game after we provide them with access to our SVN repository so I'm kinda reluctant to give it to you right away :)

I understand that. I will definitely use the SDK as a gateway into game programming, and will see how far I can go. How quickly I push myself through the learning process depends on how urgent the need is for some programming contributions. But my slate is clean here, so wherever the most need is is where I'll focus my exploration.
