RICKROLLERS Invitational Duel League

Hello again!

After few more or less succesfull one-day cups, I've decided myself to run an invitational duel league. I've tried to select 16 the most active and/or best players WarSow scene actually has.
I can imagine this cup-system not being that succesful as many ClanBase cups have proved it, however I still have hope we won't have many walkovers and the league and stuff I'll do towards making it interesing (interviews with players, asking players for pre/after match comments, asking another warsow players about matches/groups/league opinions/having stream) will make it entertaining and both players and spectators will enjoy it.

Schedule:

First round (23-29 April)
Second round (30-06 May)
Third round (07-13 May)

Play-offs: Sunday, 21 May, check-in 14:30CET, start 15:00 CET

Rules:

1. Each player has to collect screenshots and demos of every match and send them to admin.
2. Two best players of each group advance to play-offs.
3. Cointoss winner decides whose map is to be played first. - Best of Three
4. Cointoss winner decides whose map is to be played first, then you start picking the maps one-by-one. - Best of Five
5. Play on crizis cup servers.
6. If your are more than 20 minutes late it means that you automatically loose. If you have problems making it, make sure to talk with the oponent to set a new date in time. If your oponent doesn't show up, report it to an admin.
7. Timelimit is 10, scorelimit 0, overtimes are 2 minutes long.
8. Idle #RICKROLLERS @ QuakeNet during the league for better communication.
9. Before playing your match please contact with an admin.*

Well it will be a very hard match vs Cremator cause he's one of the best duelers in Warsow and my homemap wdm2 is not in the pool. However, I think it's not impossible atlest if I'm able to outplay him and manage to control the armors.

Cremator pre-match statement:

I think I should win if I remain calm during the match and manage to play my 'normal game'. Fact that I didn't see Tigu playing much on maps like wdm12,wdm14 and wdm17test should also work to my advantage. Anyway I hope for good show so viewers can enjoy watching our matches.

I play with viiGo in ctf pickups for a long time, he plays warsow good. The duel will be tigh and intense, MUST WATCH LIVE. gl viiGo !!!

The last time I played puff he beat me fairly easily but iirc I was in control and leading for half a map in wdm5 so I had my moments. Puffdar is a very good player and my chances of beating him are really small. That means I have no pressure and I'll definitely do my best =)

Although outcome of this match is pretty much predictable in kerpals favor, I hope to give good show and hopefully at least win a map! :) And like kerpal said I have my moments of glory but I'm not really active in duel nowadays.

KeRpaL pre-match statement:

I know crizis has alot of experience in duel as he plays it propably almost as long as me, however as he is not that active I hope for easy win but I can imagine if he focus and pay attention he can give me some hard time. hf&gl!!!

This cup will be an excellent opportunity for me and us to practise and get some skilled games going. Hopefully a raised skill level in warsow dueling will be the outcome of this cup.

My prediction is that group 1 will be tightest.

cant believe wdm2 is not in the mappool oh and from spectator perspective wdm5 often offers worst matches.

Yeah im very sad that theres no wdm2 in map pool cause it's my homemap as it's mentioned in my statement :/

ORDER/Falcky talks about his group:

Ah yes group 3.. Is gonna be hard as "shit" for me.. My chances against Puffdar are pretty small.. depends of the map ofcourse but Puffdar DM5 is almost impossible.. I can still manage it if he makes some mistakes or have a bad day but thats about it, his strengths would be LG and EB + timing my chance will be if I time better and attack him by surpise :). viiGo, he can play really well, so here I would say it's 50/50, I would say our aim is equal so here it would matter to have a better position and have a better timing. p0n is also gonna be a challenge, however, I haven't seen him in Warsow lately, he's a good player tho and it will be hard to win any of the maps. His strenght if I remember correctly are rockets. I'm not sure.. How ever his aim was better then mine.

ORDER/boqu talks about his group:

Well, my group appears to be a tough one. Darkwave, my first opponent, is a strong duel player, who might lack a bit of practice lately but still will have a good chances of beating me.
Not at least because of his talent to negate my rockets and eb, on which i heavily rely.
I can't say much about DroMer, besides that he just came back to warsow recently and still might be out of practice. The outcome of the match will depend on how fast he will get into shape again.
I won't underestimate him and just hope for good games.
Leshka, the last opponent in the group, has a play style that doesn't suit me well. But it might become a close game.
Advancing in this group will be though and I just hope for some good games.

nEu/Overactive talks about his group:

I don't have too much to say about my group. This is going to sound a bit cocky but I can't remember losing to crizis or r4nd0m. Since it is cup games we're playing I will still have to focus since everyone will try their best. Most interesting is the game versus the cup-favorite KeRpaL. I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve but I don't think they will last all the way in the shape I'm in at the moment anyway. Hopefully I'll give him a GG and maybe challenge him in the play-offs.
