Norton Problems

Im trying to install warsow but norton keeps deleting the installer. What do i do?

Norton isn't a great antivirus for standard consumers. The versions for companies are great, but their personal versions are really bad.

Still, any antivirus should be capable of exceptions.

Uninstall Norton and install something that actually works. Like MS security essentials.

I use Avast!, though I've heard very good reviews of crizis' suggestion.

MSE is light, doesn't make your computer lag, and most importantly rarely _ever_ gives false positives.

But this isn't just norton. It's also AVG, Avast, Comodo and big bunch of other antiviruses flag warsow dll's as "virus" by their heurestics, only because our build is compiled with gcc/mingw instead of Visual Studio. I sense compiler conspiracy! Most of these antiviruses whitelisted Warsow dll's quite quickly, but apparently Norton is the bottom of bottoms :P

I know Norton is no good but I already have a subscription for the year so when thats done im getting avast hands down. I'm just going to turn Norton off or something then dl Warsow hopefully that will work.

That'll work until you turn norton on again. Then you'll need to Restore items from the quarantine or something, since they'll get moved there as soon as norton sees them.

Avast's way these days is to ask you about anything compiled, even your own exes from visual studio, but only once.
