The legal age for buying alcohol in the Systembolaget is 20. One of the reasons for this is to minimize the "risk" of alcohol beeing sold "second hand" to younger even persons.

But when you are 18 you can go in to any pub/restaurant/clubs and drink as much as you want. And you can buy low alcohol beer (up to 3,5%) at any store.

TBH, this is a great system. And don't worry about the kids under 18 years of age, if they can't get a hold of alcohol, they're not trying.

Nice one! :D Yea the laws kinda suck but worry not! My first "langare" bought me beer when I was 15 and from then it hasn't really been a problem. :p However for visitors I recommend waiting until 20 tho!
