fps-Drops issues ?

Hey guys,

my problem is that I've got a new laptop and warsow started to lagg.
Spectator mode is laggfree but ingame it starts lagging.
Can someone help me ?
Makes Warsow unplayable for me :/

My Laptop :
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Build 7601
BIOS: insydeH2O Version 03.60.48F.02
CPU: Intel Core i5-2430M 2.40GHz (4CPUS)
GPU: Radeon HD 6490
RAM: 4096MB
DX: 11
I've just seen that I've got a second graphic card from Intel.
Maybe Warsow uses this one for playing, how to switch the graphic cards ?

1. Try this in console:

gl_ext_texture_compression 0
vid_restart

If it doesn't help, set them back to "1".

2. Afaik you can change priority of the graphics cards in the BIOS.

This has something to do with keyboard input, likely.

Texture compression issue is for ati cards, this is entirely different issue.

The problem is, we don't know how to reproduce this, yet it obviously happens for some people.

So no solution for this problem 'till now ?

You could help by testing this:

1) Join in-game but don't press anything, does fps still drop? (cg_showfps 1)
2) If it doesn't, does it start dropping by moving mouse only
3) If it doesn't, does it start lagging when you press keyboard keys
4) If it does, try going back to spec and see if fps drops when press keys while spectator

works fine now.

I play with an old mouse now.
Waaaay lower dpi. :D
Seems like the mouse was just 2 fast for my settings and made it look like laggs .. but nvm :)

Dpi shouldnt be an issue; i play at really high dpi levels, and it doesn't cause lag. I know setting the sensitivity to anything around 15 or higher makes it skip pixels.

That it interesting.. mind testing if this happens if you use m_raw 1 ?

edit: remember to in_restart or restart Warsow after changing this.

Also I'd like to know what dpi the mouse is and what hz it uses for polling? One thing that causes this might be, mouses with 1000hz polling could have problems with certain motherboards with usb. Anyhow, this is pretty puzzling as it's happening for few ppl, would be nice to know exact reason for it and possibly how to go around it. And possibly if lowering polling rate to <=500hz fixes it.

Gonna try to test it with sens > 15 and < 15, not sure if it works, gotta play with these settings for awhile as lagging doenst happen all the time.

There's generally no reason to set warsow's sensitivity past 15 anyway; I did for a time with my old mouse, but after passing 1k dpi you should be able to get high sensitivity without horrible pixel-skipping mouse movements.

Was away for a few days but now I'm back here.
I'm on my older laptop for now, when I get to my newer one, where I'm playing wsw atm I'll try things out.

On what mouse ? Lagg-free mouse or the other one that makes me think that its lagging ?
