Rockets are boring
the thread wasnt about whether the rl is too strong or not - its
the most versatile, most often used weapon, best at close range and
equal if not better than lg at midrange, most fights come down to
rockets, but despite this its not really that fun to use or play
against imo.
How is it less fun to play with or against any other gun. It's
rockets lol they play the same way they always have.
well, compared to the other quake-like rocket launchers, the wsw rl
ranks only above the q2 one, ql, q3, cpm etc all do the rocket
launcher better imo.

Why so ? Think it may be theme or movement related (wsw is more airborne). But overall, our rl fit our game, i am pretty affirmative on that

ofc its a matter of opinion, but as mikejs said they arent that
fun: the speed feels wierd (they are good for getting prediction
shots on moving players, but when players are fighting, they are
actually very fast compared to warsows ground speed - 320, same as
ql), the knockback isnt that strong or predictable and getting bum
rush constantly by players with rockets is annoying...

If you really can't hit with 1200 ups rockets, maybe you should just learn to play.

and assumed the content of my post...
...but if you read what i said you will find that in essence, the rl is working quite well in some respects - you are able to use it more effectively in a predictive way when people are moving around the map warsow style, but that in pure combat situations, its might actually be too fast - players move at the same speed on the ground as in ql, 320 ups, but the maps are in many respects tighter and the movement combined with the maps makes it much easier to get into close range engagements.
this makes for an rl that totally dominates the gameplay (not to mention that the eb and lg are now harder to hit - 20% lg is actually a good accuracy now, and thats with strong ammo) but despite this, isnt actually a very charismatic weapon. it doesnt create many good frags, using it creates very unpredictable results, and players tend to try and grab an rl and rush you, usually with reasonable success.
i know i might be annoying with what im saying and with how often im saying it, but i think im not the only one to hold these views among current and ex players. i've been playing and following this game a long time - longer than most that still post here - i still do because i dont think warsow has lived up to its potential, but that if it did, it would stand in a class of its own.
