That's called z-fighting. I think it's been fixed, though I'm willing to be a few other maps have it as well.
Just thought I'd say this again:
Maps don't have an intermission entity, and instead intermission falls back to player_start entity.
Player spawn previews don't work on player_start entities which is a valid spawn point in duel.
