proof enough ? :D

Better protection of r_shownormals would prevent those.
Devs shouldn't be lazy about that.

I don't want to start some flamewar here or whatever, honestly, but just for your knowledge, Noobsow is a pretty clueless person in therms of skill in FPS games, since he recently "slightly" accused Darkwave of cheating in my presence and used to accuse me openly on brazilian servers(anyways he accuses anyone who can think fast/predict stuff/etc etc etc in-game). Just wanted to point that here cos you might be thinking different of him and I just can't go on reading the bullshit he posts on forums and stay quiet.
Oh and also an observation: that doesn't mean I don't think there are no cheaters in the game.

Please don't tell us what we should or should not do. take this as a kind advice.

All my points in previous posts are valid and on-point. Your post is totally out of place. If you have any observations about me, talk to me.

Sorry, but I don't know you and you don't know me. I don't post shit the same way it looks like you do, now. If you got offended, wants me banned, read this: "I Don't Care". Who are you? If I think you use aimbot or not, it might be my opinion and doesn't belong to this forum.

I personally don't care about aimbotters. That's typical of the dark side of the human being: one trying to surpass the other, in a dishonest way. Imo, aimbotters are losers as are those who do that.

Thanks for the kind intimidation sentence.

Products of developers that don't listen to users let to what you can see on Warsow: empty servers.
That's what I think. Am I wrong? Anyone is free to discuss.

Users are free to express that kind of opinion, unless you live in a censored country.

And before someone starts about the small number of devs, imo it means: longer development time. No need to rush unfinished releases. And it is a good idea to fix things during Beta stage.

In this case it is user(s), you only :) Imagine devs listening to every single person in community. If i understand correctly you would like devs to spend time tilting at windmills rather than make game more fun to play ? You cant really stop ppl from cheating, it is waste of time and resource.

Understand that Vic here is hostile to the form of your message, and the "should" word implying you know better. He is not against your opinion expression about what you think is good to the game. He just advice humility, so you don't get hostile reaction.

Personal feeling about empty servers : unrelated to cheating, imo. Also kind of subjective, warsow player base is a half-filled glass too

It's instagib, most of the people here don't care about what insta-players do (because of reasons stated many times on this forum and even in this thread), also cheating in instagib kind of doesn't give you that much advantage...

He's right, BattleEye never did anything to detect cheats. Afaik the only thing it could do was download a new version of itself.

I think there are cheaters in Warsow since it dosent have anything anti-cheat system at all like early Dooms and Quakes... I admit I am kinda of a noob but I rarely play warsow but I am sick of cheaters and some players that are on some drugs while playing Warsow...

Warsow needs serverside that would record all possible data and compare it with all Warsow data files to find anything diffrient on players client.

Anyway I think Warsow devs should find hacks, even buy them, reverse enginner them and even create some just to find ways to stop them and eventually detect them.

The best way is to compare them, server and player-side client will compare each others files eventually. It will routinely check after each joining a part of your client and that same process will be on player side. So if incompatibles are detected in size, image or some code then server/player side client will abort connection with server.

So if server side client is modded then original on players side will automaticaly abort connection and vice versa. I suggest that there should be couple of Warsow checker servers that would check server side clients and detect by themself if there are modifications on the server and remove it from Warsow Server browser automaticaly after 3 warning. The third is final.

Hopefully you will understand and I think I made a good exsample of how to prevent cheating... Please implement it if you can. Dont be lazy.

Well, maybe there could be some very basic Anticheat which would detect like 20% of the most populat hacks, but it would only prevent the dumbest hackers. I don't think anything bigger than that could be possible for Warsow.

You got the source code - get on work then.

Maybe after few weeks/months of (full-time) work you'll realize how daunting task it is make an anticheat system that learn_more doesn't hack in 3 minutes.

anticheat is like antivirus. Having it doesnt always guarantee protection. not having it doesnt mean you catch a virus or that everyone starts cheating.

Well comparing clients would be a great anti cheat since the cheat would be in modified warsow client our process connected with warsow...

I mean why so lazy? I am not a coder, I am just a mapper and a storywriter within free time...

The best anti-cheat is valves VAC.. Warsow should be on steam even thought it wouldt have VAC...
