Questions for the dev team about upcoming release?
Hello community.
As the release is drawing near, I thought we could perhaps do "release interview" and answer community questions, if you have any.
Submit your questions to this thread, technical or non-technical, hopefully we'd get some interesting questions to answer which would be useful and nice to read even for new players / people outside the warsow community.
Like you can imagine, usual "insider trolling" and arguing about changes isn't very interesting to read to anyone (although we'll answer questions about changes too, if you have any), so try to come up with little more unusual questions which could interest outsiders too! :)
For a reference, lokirulez made pretty nice interview 3 years ago with us, back in 0.5 release.
Cheers!

Alright im going to ask a few questions. So here we go.
Q1
Gameplay changes.
What have changed weapon wise? If you compare to 0.6 (Promod).
Any movement changes?
We already seen that the strong ammo still is there, but i have heard "rumors" that it maybe should have been removed. Why is the strong ammo still here?
Q2
Graphics changes?
Q3
Any new gametypes that i havnt heard of? :P
Q3
Any new maps?
Q4
What will happen to the Dev. team? Now when this is the "Final" version? Will you quit? :(

Q1
What are your plans to advertise warsow?
Q2
Don't you think you should improve standard huds and include Clanfart's ones?
Q3
Final release? No more place for any improvement? Don't you think it's going to kill game sooner or later?
Q4
Are you trying to invite some new devs into the team(via Moddb or sites similiar to this)?
Q5
How would you compare warsow community and warsow itself nowadays to older releases?

What are your future plans? Do you will completely abandon it all together, or go into a "repair-state"? Do you plan to find new leaders for the game? Solomonk coming back?
Also:
What are your plans to advertise 0.7?
1. Any plans of multilangual UI?
2. Do you has any cooperation/connetions with devs from other games like ezQuake, Xonotic and etc?
3. How many hours per week do you work on Warsow?
4. Do you like the game you make? How often do you play it?
5. Are going to simplify the game to make it more pleasent for new players?

Could you describe how an idea gets integrated into warsow. Who
usually comes up with the ideas, how and where developers usually
argue about different ideas?
Could you sum up different tasks of people that have been working on 0.7. It would be interesting to see to who we owe the pleasure of fantastic menus, superior stats system and close to divine game play, etc
Could we get a little more personal with the devs in general, who you guys are, what do you do for living and etc.

1. Will the final release require people to register servers for
stats/ranking?
2. What will happen to Warsow after this release?
I was thinking something like this would be interesting. Developer bio's or something. Things like:
how long have you played,
how long have you been developing,
why did you decided to become a Warsow developer,
what are past open source projects that you've worked on,
what other things (media, software, people, etc) inspire your work in Warsow,
what are your future plans after Warsow,
what have you learned from making Warsow,
what would you like to see changed in Warsow,
what do you like and dislike most about Warsow,
what are your thoughts about Warsow's community,
what are your favorite things to come out of the community (modifications, events, friends, etc),
what is something that you haven't seen from the community, but would like to,
if you could steal one thing from another game and give it to Warsow, what would it be,
etc.
Perhaps it would also be nice to have some of the former developers make bios too.

I would extend this question:
Since in some forum posts you announced or rumored abour quitting developing:
1) What are plans for future of warsow?
2) Who will take place in developing team?
3) Have ever considered a different style of team developing?
many other question could be done after those will be answered but i cannot try to predict all of them.
are u happy with wsw's state of popularity?
do u think/hope warsow still might "break through"? are u willing to try making that happen?
idk if those quit-rumors are true, but if not: what are goals for the next release?

Do you think adding new gametype that follow "today's basic" would
bring new and fresh player to the game? What's your plan for
enhancing "casual" gameplay? (like everybody can see classic
gametype do have that much love nowadays..."
Might have asked a few of these (albeit under an ulterior guise!)
already BUT
1) Are there any plans in place to make Warsow 'self sustaining' (IE not reliant upon funds from the devs / donations) in the near future; or is this indeed necessary?
2) There's been a few indications in the past that, although not definite, the Warsow development cycle may draw to some form of conclusion relatively soon; are there any intentions for the release of another game (be it free to play, FPS or otherwise) either through the current 'coherent' development team or as a deviating side project?
3) With greater integration of web functionality in 0.7, what are/is 'your' (dependent on who can be bothered to answer this!) opinion(s) on the seeming direction in which the internet is dragging gaming (IE with a greater emphasis placed upon the social aspect, the imminence of more 'cloud gaming' services).

Huksi, this thread is about questions to the devs.
I have another question to add to my 'dev bio' list:
About how many hours have each of you invested into developing Warsow?

Me, personally, maybe 30 minutes.
1) will you ever release the tutorial map for warsow? I really
believe that these is a MUST for newcomers etc etc
2) Will there still be some what support after 1.0? As in, will you continue to occasionaly release a new hud, new official map, ...something? But also on forums, newsposts, cups, ...

Will there be another donation tool like before?

This idea just popped up in my mind while reading your post:
What if you create a donation link where you can donate from 1€/$ to...whatever you want? Once there is xxx sum of money gathered - which is live followable on the site and goes *dingdingding* like you won the jackpot - an awesome cup by the awesome falcky gets hosted! Or just every 6 months with the remaining money in the "donationbank"? Casted by nvc and jehar!

Tbh, I don't think this should be devs' responsibility to organize and host this kind of stuff. We alraedy have enough on our plates with actually developing the game, we'd very much rather prefer to have some semi-official community site handling this kind of stuff.

Why not have Falcky setup a donation then?
