Hi. As a few of you already know, I am very interested in and I have talked about doing this, is to learn players who already know the basics about warsow movement and duel but who wants to up their gamestyle to simply play better and enjoy warsow like a champion. I have been throughout my gaming with warsow been asked by ALOT of people about duel tips and misc stuff about warsow. I really do enjoy helping new people. Throughout time I have been asked to do "tutorials" or casting own demos on how I think and what I am doing etc. But this has never been that interesting and I will explain why.

Learning the basics is really easy. There are several videos out there already that can teach you the understanding of bunny/strafehoping walljumps etc. I see some players that have already played for some time that still doesnt advance in skill as quick as I have for example. And I want to teach those who want, how.

Why wont I do tutorial videos?

Well I have learned that we all play the game differently. Some things that work for me may not work for you. But theoretically its the same thinking combined with practice. I want to work on an individual level and not of a great mass. It never works anyway.

Alright enough with the fucking bullshit.

For this to work, you have to know/have:

* A set config that you feel comfortable with. Weaponbinds and gfx settings that work for you. If you dont have it, and tweak these things after each duel then I will just give things to you and you will just have to deal with it.

* Basic knowledge about the movement.

* Basic knowledge about duel gametype.

* (Optional) Voice communication on ventrilo, a good quality mic and good english, it will be alot more effective. (I cannot use mumble or any other voicecom program).

Things I can help you with:

* Even though you must have a set config, we will still look to it, and debate what things are necessary and what isnt.

* Advancing your knowledge about movement. (If you use new movement and havent used old movement then we will consider this to be of training aswell. You will be alot more effective and more options will be at your disposal).

* Advancing YOUR specific gamestyle overall.

* Improving knowledge about defensive and aggressive positions.

* "When to do what", going through common scenarios. Example: What to do when you spawn.

* How to utilize map geometrics to your advantage

* Among other things I see necessary.

Purpose of this is that I want people whom are here to stay, to enjoy this game better. I do have a set program in mind but since we all are different it will never look exactly the same.

PM me on IRC quakenet #warsow, my nickname is GoReY.

I just went through with clownfart.

He played 4 games, vs 4 different including me.

I watched them several times, demos, and analysed.

Recorded myself showing and typing what the flaws were. I think I will do it offline on my own lan server next time, alot of people showed up and I got unfocused.

I think I could have improved alot and im going to think about how i can explain and show things better. Its not always that simple to explain. I also had a great response, several players contacting me. Just so you know I will do this with anyone who asks.

For example I forgot to go through a few points I typed above, also how map layout affects fights and how you can know in advance to move away and/or move in for the fight.

Hi, this will be delayed until further notice since I have lost some crucial equipment which means I will not be playing that often either. I do not know when these issues will be resolved.

Are you still able to help people out learning duel? I've got the basics down, but I'd love to get better.

Hey GoReY ! I've never read this interesting topic.
I'm still waiting for this kind of advises. You already gave me some good advises, as some other players. That's what I like in wsw community : mostly, people help eachothers to improve.
Myself I like to teach the basics to new player each time I can do it.

So GoReY !... when can we schedule my next private lesson :D ?
