Warsow 1.0 Crashes (Failed to load UI.dll)

Hey there, just downloaded Warsow after seeing an article through Kotaku. Sadly I can't play it.

Installation was smooth, everything was checked as default, but when I try to run the game, it goes into a Gray Screen and crashes with the error "Error during initialization: Failed to load UI.dll."

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting and creating my own shortcut to the launcher, running the game as an Admin, closing Steam and running it, and tried launching the x64/x64 Portable/x86 Portable.exe files.

Help? Thank you in advance.

Specs:

AMD Athlon II X2 250u Dual Core (3.2 GHz)
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Integrated GFX Card
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition
4 GB RAM

Make sure you didn't uncheck the 'use profile dir' in installer, otherwise you'll need to run Warsow as administrator (regular users can't write to program files :)

When I reinstalled it I made sure it was checked.

any notes from your Antivirus?

Just start Warsow Set up again.
And let the Select Additional Tasks
Dont create a desktiop icon
but accept
-the registry .wd15...
-and warsow15...
-and the user profile options: Use per -user settings in the user...

Then start Warsow again and have Fun :)

I've ran the installer several times using different options and the suggested ones to no avail.

I decided to google "UI.dll fix" for other options, and ended up downloading CCleaner to clean the registry. Ran it and cleaned out my computer in a few seconds, restarted the computer and ran the installer again; didn't work.

I'm using avast! Antivirus and it hasn't attempted to block anything when I download/run Warsow, so I doubt it has anything to do with my Antivirus.

Try to download the linux version. (.tar) and just unzip.

Uh, if you're on vista or 7 and have UAC on, it COULD cause an issue. That used to cause this. Try running as administrator.

Finally got around to downloading the torrent, didn't work :(.

Refer back to my initial post, it was the first thing I tried.

Bump.

Try disabling avast. Wether or not you think it's the problem, just try.

just add an exception in avast, simply closing it is not gonna work (unless you explicitly disable it)

I use avast and can confirm that the game works flawlessly with it.
