LG changes made in 1.0
Hello,
This is a question to the devs: I would like to know what has changed from 0.6 to 1.0 concerning LG (and I don't mean damage wise). I'm very sure the way it works was tweaked, cause everyone seems to have way worse accuracies and it certainly feels either like the beam size was lowered or LG registers a lot worse due to netcode.
Thanks.

Don't get my word on this since I wasn't part of the development,
but my guess is that what you feel changed are the octagonal
hitboxes.
That seems to be a reasonable factor, but is that the only
reason?
If I remember correctly wsw had hexagonal hitboxes previously so (without doing the math) that shouldn't make a very large impact between the two- the diagonal is still the same (or is it?).

This is the first release with octagonal hitboxes. Essentially, the
difference is that because hitboxes don't rotate, a rectangular one
is really huge from a diagonal. This is no longer true.
I felt to hit more than what I seen on stats. Expecially with the
LG, of course.
well no, I used to have 20% Lg at the beginning of new hitboxes too
but now I'm back at 30-35% :) just get used to it and you'll
eventually find out how to hit with LG ^^

This is especially sensitive with lg, because of how often you miss by a little portion of model. So, yes, i guess that's just it

give me a demo where ur hitting a constant 30-35% LG vs good players pls (no duel/da)

pft, only 30%

Yes.

Yes.
So if only the hitbox was modified how come there is no difference in eb and plasma accuracies? Also I don't think I have any less direct rockets than I did in previous version.
Plasma and rockets have a width; eb, you're expected to aim better.

Your statements have nothing to do with my question. Direct rockets and plasma indeed have a width, but they haven't changed (or have they?) so they too would suffer proportionally from a hitbox change. Same with eb.
Things with a width are less likely to suffer from the change,
because it's not THAT extreme.
EB is hitscan with perfect accuracy, rather than a weapon you have to hold on people; you're more likely to hit the middle of them consistently than with lg.

I don't think rox and pg do have a width. The fact you hit roughly
as much is due to 1 - faster speed for pg 2 - splash damage that is
almost not impacted by hitboxes.
+1 magus for eb. And it count for direct roxes as well, so yea, it's just lg that ate much of the hitbox change

Ah, width, why? Makes dodge from close impossible. Coming from
Quake, RL feels like hitscan. And that plazma damage...

Rockets don't. Plasmas do.
