CA and EB
I wouldn't say its mega op. But it's a little to good and easy to
deal dmg with. Imo there should be weak eb in CA instead of strong.
Its not mega important but would be nice. It's not like CA is
broken or anything.

I can see where it might seem a bit OP, but then again with my
inability to aim it doesn't make much of a difference. The only
weapon that needs nerfing imo is PG and there have been enough
threads about that already...

ca has always been like that or atleast as long as i have played so
try to deal with it.
primarily down to the map(s)! Generally played ca1 and a bit o'
ca2, and they're both pretty open. Can understand that CA is
generally played in pubs with teams of 6+ each side at a time so
can't expect too much up close 'n' personal action but... y'know!

When I have played CA people mostly race around wca1 trying to get
the highest speed possible while spamming loads of plasma and
rockets and bouncing around dashing on cooldown. The people that
wants to play normally may stand and use zoom EB, but thats pretty
much the only counter to the racing guys.
With the huge extremes in terms of map scale across gametypes its
impossible to balance across them all. The only option now that
weak/strong is gone would be to limit how much ammo you get for the
eb? Or do as moto says though I believe the eb is stronger now than
it was in the past few versions?

You should have played in 0.3 times, there were pretty much only camper class chosen, absolutely no fun playing 3vs3 esl ca against a bobel when eb was that overpowered.
The main reason why eb is so strong is the maps, this is basically what I tried to make different when planning the layout of my ca map.
Having an open map is absolutely not wrong for ca, it is actually needed to make the gamemode so fast-paced and movement-intensive as it is, but what current ca maps lack is proper connectivity, if you have only a 200 meter long hallway where you can't escape because of poor connectivity, you are fresh meat for a proper camper.

moment.
Try 0.21 EB then you will see the real gun. This 1.0 EB is like being poked.
It has gone from 100 dmg to 90 to 80 dmg to 75dmg.
I tell you the new ca players have it good.

Not anymore really since you've only got 20 rockets which is not enough to rj around and use them in fights when playing 5on5-8on8 games. It feels stupid when you have to keep saving your rockets all the time. There should be at least 30 rockets per round imo. And I know a lot of other people think so too.
And yeah the eb feels a bit too strong. Maybe if there were more rockets you could rush the eb players more ;)

if im not mistaken, its significantly higher than it was in the last few versions where it was at 60 or something? these things have changed so many times now its impossible to keep track ^^

Only thing I think is a bit wrong with CA now is the lack of
rockets, since they're used for both movement and real
weapon...
The problem only becomes apparent when end-round in 1 vs 2 or more, where the "only" player has an extra disadvantage when he runs out of rocketsin this already tricky situation, certainly with the strong EB. You could offc say that it's a team gametype and that this means the team sucks and the win should go to the other team anyway - but still, it sucks as a player to be in that situation, certainly since ammo conservation and item pickups don't come to play in the CA gametype.

Personally I think the "lacking" amount of rockets is a good thing.
I hate it when people race around wca1 just for the sake of it,
rocketjumping 5 laps around the map, sitting with a fat grin on
their face because they think they are so fast. Play the damn match
and try to get some frags instead!

You still see this happening (which is annoying indeed), so this doesn't "fix" that at all. And that's what callvote remove is for afaik on pubs.
Not having RL ammo also discourages you to go 1-on-1 with someone if you have the chance when you're in 1 vs 2(+) situation, I try to keep my distance if I get in this situation = boring. And there are other ways than rockets to gain speed - although not as effective (GB).
Even only 25 vs 20 would be an improvement, but I still think this gametype is not about ammo preservation or different weapon tactics - which was a bit the idea behind CA with classes, which disappeared...
It is about what ppl want to play - and the nr1 complaint I've heard in-game in CA was that they hated it when running out of rockets.
