I have long thought that it would be nice to be able to differentiate enemy and friendly grenades from each others, just by the looks of them. (like u can with bolts and lasers) Is this possible to do? Does it sound like an implement-worthy idea? Of course it will work on sv_pure 0 only but still.

possible with some changes to the grenade model shader and probably some code. the shader would need to contain an new pass with the team color blending, and the code would need to set the team id for grenades

I like the idea of team-colored plasma but team-colored RL doesn't sound so good to me :)

I think GL is mostly the weapon that lacks team-coloring atm

Team-colored grenades would be very nice indeed.

obviously. in the simple terms, asking a question like "5 years?" and the answer is yes, it can escalate up to billions of years and he still says yes. so let's just make it the dawn of time :P

Does the instagun have team colors? If not that should be done too.

jihnsius: The EB is allready team-colored you only need to use the old EB-style.

They are teamcolored for me and I don't even use the old style, so not.

...was of some help, eventually I just realized I didn't know what to do. I've never modded games before so my knowledge of what-goes-where-and-how is very limited, although I generally understand C.

Would someone be willing to explain the steps of doing this change from start to finish, or maybe hop on IRC and give some instructions?
