my wsw mode iwsw, 'i' standes for improved =)
kinda tried to make wsw more competetive and less random
Changes:
All dashes, walljumps, doublejumps are controled by single DASHTIME which capped to 3.5 sec
It means that you can perform one of those one time in 3.5 sec.
Doublejumps are changed to be more UT-style: you will have dj if you pressed dash button in less then 100 ms after jump and being in the air
Added CrouchSliding also controled by DASHTIME and dash button
Changed behavior of dash button on slow (less then 300 ups) speed on ground - it works then like crouch button.
Increased crouch movement speed.
New aircontrol physics, made it "explicit" without any use of old mostly nonsense functions.
Removed nonsense 2 style movements. Now there is no difference in "forward" and "strafe" aircontrol, you can use only one button all the time. Aircontrol now is much more adjustable.
New cvar cg_autoAirControl (off by default) working only with "strafe" buttons and allowing weak bunny hopping without moving mouse at all.
It works like extra mouse sensitivity specific for aircontrol, it's harder to use but after some practise low-sens players can benefit from it.
(note: it seems to be bugged but only on linux =), if you have problems be sure that cg_autoAirControl is 0)
Updated huds to show DASHTIME, new cvar cg_showDashTime to disable it.
Capped minimum "teleported" speed to 500 ups and added shot knockbacked behavior.
Changed "knockbacked" behaviour, it's now not only removing ground friction but also decreasing ground accel and so works more like q3 "cripple" effect, to somehow compensate smaller new hitboxes)
can be adjusted, dont know how strong it's now
Changed MG spread to cylindrical.
Increased air wish speed to 450 ups, so you can reach this speed just by jumping. Aircontrol can give you max 750 ups. Still there is no cap with strafejumping and crouchsliding.

to install it you should extract iwsw.zip into your warsow folder so you will have both basewsw and iwsw folders in it and then start warsow with "+set fs_game iwsw" parameter
(if you installed wsw with installer copy your wsw shotcut and add '+set fs_game iwsw' in properties) or start wsw with 'iwsw.bat' or 'iwsw.sh'
it hopefully should work on win x32 and x64 and linux x64.

Nothing bad comes from new things anyway. Maybe something good will come out from this mod. Good job and keep going!

I like that there's still someone who wants to make warsow better..

random idd, its a couple of neat ideas thrown together, some of which are nice others i dont understand. e.g. what are nonsense functions in terms of aircontrole physiks?
limiting +special removes a lot of trickjumps i guess, which would best be let alone in wsw. if anything doesnt need work in wsw, its the movement, imho. besides the more or less arkward situation with two types of movement. although, movement might be responsible for some imballance( eg maps feel smaller when you can get everywhere in no time), i think these changes are uncalled for. that said, crouchslide alone makes this interesting.

interesting ideas. kind of like a whole new game. you could even try to remove bunnyhop totally, and add footstep sounds. then it becomes more about using +special and the slides as a way to engage in fights, coupled with very powerful guns could make a dm tactical shooter ^^

Next retexture all the maps to utilize the idea of "brown and bloom" and lastly and a ranking system. Great game in the making there...

well, i shoulda been clearer. perhaps then i wouldve noticed, that having one cool off timer for dash, wj, etc (thats what i was poking at) doesnt mean ddj is broken, since you didnt remove timer reset on groundcontact. on the other hand you still need crouch bound for crouchjumps.

Crouchsliding is incredibly fun (although you gain WAY too much speed from it, like ice), but the rest of warsows movement I love too much and you've taken it away.

It's awesome being able to slide up stairs so i don't have to gain air by going up, and being able to slide for a tiny bit to reposition my next jump. And getting to 1000 ups in 1.5 seconds :D

I think I removed it and yes ddj should be broken but there is no need for dds anymore since you can do dj whereever you want now. ofcorse you'll be unable to do combination of triks but still most wsw maps should playable with this mod

well, I expected it to be less powerfull then q4 one since it works in the same way and q4 ground accel (15) is bigger then wsw one (12). but now I see that it seems to be much more powerfull. There is one difference though - in q4 you cant jump out of cs without standing up.
and I think it does work like ice

tbh i'm not very fond of your ideas. You made a diffirent movement system, and it seems more difficult then the current one. (sorry, haven't tried your mod, but sure I will). Some ideas looks intresting, but not crouchsliding and ut-like doublejump! :D

Well, as for me, warsow needs easer movement for newbies, but it should provides the same posibilities as it does now.

P.s. By 3.5 secs of capping you brake a lot of trixes. I.e. dj+wj from ya to eb ammo on wdm5.

I have tried it yesterday and i like it. But tbh i do more like the base movement cus i love dash. You have to give the mod a reason that everybody must play it (o: a total conversation maybe? Like BF1942-->Desert Combat or Arma II--->dayZ or Halflife--->Counterstrike

So make a TC of a game that people don't play anyway? :D

But in actuality, if someone took the engine's source and did that, I wouldn't mind at all.

I'd probably stick with basewsw though.

It is legitimate to ask yourself if tc is not better because specifically core warsow players like core warsow movement so you might want something different to try to catch a different audience that may appreciate your gameplay gimmicks better.

But the work amount is generally the bottleneck in that kind of project because it mean coding + mapping + modelling.
