So, dueling

For some reason or another all I really see are CA and race servers that are populated. o.O

Do people generally set up duels through IRC? I don't see too many duelers. :/

I know in Xonotic I rarely see dueling outside of the tiny NA community unless it is set up through IRC.

QL is the same way in this respect, though I guess that's a little different with all the premium-subscriber-private-server bullcrap.

With the influx of new players from GOG and Dueling being a higher skill ability to most (including myself) it is difficult for us to break into the tier in any twitch shooter. CA, Race, and FFA can just be more fun to those of us without the reflexes needed for a 1 on 1 with the amazing players that call this game their home. I know for a fact that I could never in a million years best a lot of the players that are duelers.

People rarely play duel, and is occasionally set up on irc. And I hate to see peoples faces, saying that stupid ass shit. You dont need to play much, play someone your own level. All this fucking bullshit that you need to be inhuman or something to play duel.

that's maybe connected to the fact u can barely play whom u want to. not only that it's hard to find sb on ur lvl, but also in wsw duelers invade every not empty-server they find and, unless there are really really new guys, they'll join the cq. password protection doesn't stop anybody here, we got some bad culture regarding this imo. i can't even play 2maps in a row with a mate if i'm not so unpleasant as to vote ppl off. and getting raped by some horny duelnerd could cause or at least reinforce this (bad) attitude u described.

Aye, one of the reasons I can't really get into dueling at all in any twitch-based shooter outside of Sauerbraten. :/

Tried a little in QL but everyone was much, much better than me (mind you, I haven't played in a while) and would constantly berate me. I have a thick skin and I expect this sort of thing to take a very long time to even get decent at, but in the end, I eventually gave up.

I'm a bit more determined this time around in Warsow, and I would like to begin learning how to duel. Just not really sure how to go about it. I joined #warsow and #warsow.na, so we'll see what happens next. ^^

Hmm, I think QuakeLive and Xonotic have quite strong duel communities, maybe attract them with tourneys and such?

Dude, I was just saying that Dueling is quite difficult to some of us, no need to jump on my back about it...
