Lokirulez duel tactics will be useful for new players as
well.
You could also mention bolted's slackday (I think that it's a lot more geared + welcoming to newer players than pickups)
#slackday (can't remember if that's the right channel or not)
#warsow.pickup for tdm/ctf (quite highskilled, not the best place to start if you're new to fast paced FPS's)

I dont think new players can be helped. Having recently joined the
game, i have to say its even more difficult than cs (due to fast
pace)!
I was an old school tac ops player, and enjoy cs , i like the idea of this game. Smaller maps, with frantic gameplay with a decent engine. But i gotta admit i think im out of my depth here

You shouldn't feel that way, dm games are harder to learn IMO so you won't get good straight away. Just stick at it and play with friends etc or pop into #newsow on irc and get a few beginner games :)

Thanks ill take your advice. I wont give up yet, for it does seem potentialy an excelent game, just difficult to begin as i couldnt find a way to practice offline as say i could in cs etc.. And so i guess the phrase "jumping in at the deep end" applied.
But ill give the irc a shot. Thanks
Well, some good places to start from scratch would be the instagib
servers. They'll train your aim and get you used to the kind of
movements that players can use. Clan arena will be coming in 0.3 -
so new players wont have to worry about finding guns/armours when
attempting to learn the game.

Yea i'll get on that now it was starting to look messy :
What about using the wiki more, ie. by linking to the community
page in the wiki, insted of linking to all of the different
community sites?
Wiki community page
Then we only need to update one place, when a new site opens up, or an existing closes down.
