So of course this gun appears to do nothing, and has no use.

I'm just wondering if the team will shed any light on it? Is it a leftover from something else? Is it a new gun we might see in 0.5? Can the report only be heard by the insane? Was it meant to launch pillows to deflect lasers? Why does it look so much like a sex toy? D:

This is relic from times of 0.2x when "shockwave" was planned for future releases, but it was abandoned by the team. Good, wsw don't need uber bfg-like guns.

You guys should put this info in some visible place, or remove gun from the game completly, because thread like that will appear everytime new player will try 'give all' cheat. ;)

It was never planned as a uber bfg-like gun, and it has never been abandoned... just put on the shelf, I guess :p
