Topic: captured scene by demoavi is slower than the actual gameplay

Captured serial TGAs (or JPGs) by demoavi is slower than the actual gameplay.
Therefore I cannot make a warsow video with in-game sounds.

Here are my system specs:
Windows XP SP2
Athlon64 3500+, 1024MB RAM, GeForce 6800 GT

I don't know why this happen but I hope it wil be solved.

thanks

Come on Raelz, that reply isn't of much use to manomano, try to point him in the good direction atleast.
I advise you to take a look at the Warsow wiki (Movies section). Basically you'll have to record the sound seperatly.

Re: captured scene by demoavi is slower than the actual gameplay

another way to record and sync the sound is to first capture the demo frames with avidemo the normal way as explained in the wiki, make a clip of the captured frames with virtualdub bmp2avi or some other prog... go get fraps(http://www.fraps.com/) and capture the demo with sound enabled, import both clips in the movie application of your choice and play them side by side and get to sync, you can even put one on top of the other and lower the opacity slightly. this way you get a almost perfect result fairly fast!

maybe some moviemaker should have a look at the beefquake source, i remember that it could drop frames, sound and convert to a clip directly from within the game.

Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.

maybe if enough people go bug at  http://q3mme.proboards75.com/index.cgi we can have that smile

basically a mod thats lets you do recams, sounds, and motion blur for video capturing.

http://files.filefront.com/demoavi_dela … einfo.html

This video shows how demoavi clips delay.

left: captured by fraps (no delay)
center: demoavi @ 30fps
right: demoavi @ 300fps -> 10x speed playback

Of course all source clips are 30fps.

Re: captured scene by demoavi is slower than the actual gameplay

Re: captured scene by demoavi is slower than the actual gameplay

I'll do some tests tonight

Re: captured scene by demoavi is slower than the actual gameplay

I tested some cl_demoavi_fps values.
cl_demoavi_fps 160 ==> serial pics fps is 166
cl_demoavi_fps 300 ==> serial pics fps is 333

And I found post about this issue smile. Here is quote from http://www.warsow.net/forum/viewtopic.p … 1101472926

1000/8 = 125
1000/7 = 142

it's the way the engine works

1000/6 = 166
1000/3 = 333
...
