Topic: [Coop] 04_bobothouse_v1

A new Coop which can prove a challenge even for a experienced played.
Which takes at least 2 hours to complete. (10-12 People).

looks fun, but mapping looks pretty sloppy and undetailed

Your right. But i couldn't add more details because netradiant doesn't likes maps with over 4000 brushes. :<
I had to delete like 500 brushes and other extra things. You know Coop maps are big:<

AND I can't make good looking warsow maps + performance .It just doesn't seem possible for me.

I want people with a low-end videocard to play coop. Me for example smile

Sry, but that's not true smile
but I can understand that you don't want to put too much work into a coop map, which is gets more boring the more you play it wink

No seriously when i wanted to export the 4000 brush version q3map2 or how its called crashed.


Maybe i have windows 7. But thats unlogical. Because it works normally...

Well, my current map has more than 4000 brushes as well, and I don't get any problems
when it crashes, check the console in the netradiant (with o) and look what error message it says, write it here or check that list: http://www.map-craft.com/modules.php?na … amp;t=1272
It might also be a problem with a corrupted brush, there could be several reasons for the compiler crashing, but I can tell you, that the pure amount of brushes won't cause a crash, as long as you have the appropriate hardware

well, I tested it yesterday
while some things where quite enjoyable, like the room where one have to turn the water boxes and the other have to swim through or the disco, many things were either too long, or too boring or not well enough explained
as example:
-the labyrinth: we had no idea what to do there, you should think about adding a texture at the wall where you write a small explanation of what to do
-the grenadejump part: this was extremely boring, the height is ever the same, not very innovative
-the pathway: while the idea is okay (I know this already from other, nonwsw maps) the pathway is simply too long, we lost motivation at half of the way

my friend and me, we both thought that you could bring a lot more innovative ideas into the puzzles, there are plenty of possibilities
my friend also meant that you should focus more onto innovative and interesting puzzles instead of the look of the map

actually there is one. the lines go from numbers from colors and you have to look it carefully to see which goes to which color. then when you go to a room with number choose the right color.

Solidfake the only reason i worked more on the looks because i wanted to attract more people to play it sad

03 has some nice levels smile but graphical ...its more basic

Anyway im in vacation in Italy so i won't map for a month

well, I thought at the beginning that you need to check which color is the first number, then one needs to find the way through the labyrinth to the first color while the other stays at the board and tells him where to go :3
I also couldn't see the numbers cause I had picmip turned on

As this isn't made for looking good, I would build it very simple with concrete, ambient lightning and decent details like colored normalmapped pipes, like the colored ex_metalribs. The textures you used just look fucked up when theres no shadow for normalmap, it looks like you didn't know what to do. Also it's very tiring to look at those bright flashy textures at last screen for a longer time, especially if you want to focus gameplay. I'll check it later but I think it's awesome like your last one.
